Beauty may only be skin deep, but caring for your skin starts with some of your body’s most basic functions. That’s why taking care of your skin, hair and nails is more than simply applying serums and creams. Keeping your integumentary system (responsible for skin, hair and nails) at its best also requires proper sun protection (hello YL Mineral Sunscreen!), plenty of sleep, and a healthy diet that includes a variety of vitamins and minerals.
One of the things I love to do is keep my toenails painted, but I hate the chemical exposure of polish and polish remover. And when we traveled recently, my Zoya polish remover leaked and I needed a quick solution to get my chippy paint off my toes! If your Facebook newsfeed is full of Young Living friends like mine is, you've probably seen the posts about using Lemongrass essential oil to remove nail polish. I decided to give it a try, because in my town there is no place to get a non-toxic nail polish or remover and I didn't have time to run to the city. And, guess what?! It totally worked on me, just like it did on my friend Teri!!

In fact, it worked so well, I've decided this is a #hack I'm going to be sharing with my new Star rank team leaders as a recognition gift!! Here's how you can share this affordable gift with your teams, and potentially introduce them to some new products, while you teach another layer of the chemical free lifestyle!
If you love to make custom mailing labels, here's the link to Avery's online templates where I created the mailing labels and note cards for this gift set project! It's totally simple to create beautiful and professional labels in just a few minutes using this site. Afterwards, download the templates to your computer, and check them for accuracy. Then print as desired!!
Customize the labels with your favorite font and pick a cheery bubble mailer like these that I love to send to my team...
Next, you will want to have basic moisturizers like the ART Light Moisturizer and the ART Renewal Serum. These provide a fantastic primer base for Savvy Minerals!! These can be ordered through your Virtual Office as existing members. For new members, please contact the person who shared this link, or join our team by clicking this link.
If you can't purchase several sets of the YL brushes for classes, consider purchasing a few of the less expensive brush sets, and then use the Savvy brushes for display. Opening the Kabuki Brushes on Tammy Boley & The OilWell Team Facebook page, and showing how to make samples for your team:
I purchased two kinds of brushes, and am pleased with the quality of these for temporary brushes. I will be replacing them with our Savvy Minerals brushes as soon as they are in stock!
For years, Melissa wondered how to purchase clean make-up, and when she couldn't find it, she worked hard to formulate her own!! Young Living saw the need for Savvy Minerals and offered to buy her brand!! Isn't that amazing?! I love a company that will listen to it's members, and adjust it's product line to meet the demand for truly CLEAN products!! Savvy Minerals is free (as in zip, zero, zilch) of the following harmful ingredients:
Here are some simple tutorials to help you get started or introduce your friends to Savvy Minerals:
Start by being a product of the product! Learn the product line and try the products on yourself!! They are amazing, provide great coverage and are simple to use! Here's a tutorial on placing your first order! As you listen, write down your color preferences, so you can create your first order here. After the video, check the graphics for color names and options!
When choosing a foundation, think about this... If your wrist veins are blue in tone, choose the cool color foundations, and if then tend to be more green, then choose the warm tones. Dark tones are recommended for people of color.
If you are in love with that famous NARS blush color mentioned in the video, I Do Believe You're Blushin' is the color for you!! It's the one I chose with Warm 2 for my skin tone, and I love the combination! Ready to order right now, aren't you? Yup. Me, too!
If you're like me, bronzer is not something I've been using, because it was just one more layer of chemicals I felt I didn't need. Know what I mean? Now, we have a clean option!! Check out this tutorial on how to correctly contour using Savvy Minerals!
And here are the color options, which I especially love, because every woman DESERVES to wear a crown!!
Now what about eye shadows? Did you know you can use eye shadow to enhance the color of your natural eye color? A good general rule is to use eye shadows that are the opposite color of your eye color on the color wheel. For example, I have green eyes. On the color wheel, green is opposite of red, so I typically try to wear eye shadows with reddish undertones to help make the green in my eyes stand out. I love a good plum, maroon, and browns with warm tones for my green eyes! For blue eyes, shadows with a more orange undertone will make your eyes POP! Try a pretty copper, gold, or warm brown. Brown eyes are the most versatile (in my opinion) and can pull off a lot of different colors. I have found the plum, blues, and bronzed browns can really make brown eyes stand out! (Thanks, Haley!)
Remember singing, "I love my lips" with the Veggie Tales crew? Well, I didn't feel that way because knowing that most lipsticks contain lead, beetle parts, mercury, and other stuff I just don't want to apply to my face!!
I love that our Lip Gloss stays intact without a nasty, toxic chemical reaction to keep it there!! And no crushed beetle body parts, beaver bum excretions, or other gross ingredients that don't belong on your beautiful face!! Or mine.
Last but not least, don't skip this product!! This is the secret sauce to making mineral make-up look GOOD on all skin types!! Check out the video above if you didn't catch why you must have the Misting Spray!! Plus, the essential oils in this formula make an amazing natural fragrance, and people will be asking what scent you are wearing!!
Okay, so we all like savings right? Sometimes we talk ourselves out of spending money on things because we THINK we are spending a lot. Well, I am not typically a couponer or a price matcher but I thought I would compare and contrast the cost of YL's makeup with a few other leading companies.
Here are my interesting finds for the basic things we all buy when we think of makeup:
So, as you can see: 1.) Young Living's makeup is NOT expensive; 2.) Hello, INGREDIENTS??? :) I mean, the stuff I can trust is really no more then the stuff I can't trust. Maybe you get a tad more (like multiple eyeshadows or a duo blush pack) but I am happy to get quality over quantity. :)
AND BEST POINT OF ALL: Neither of these other 2 give me POINTS BACK when I order!!!! With my YL order I can add these to my ER order, get 25% back (if you're just starting you will get 10% and work your way up) which is $38.25 back on an order of $153!!!!! So, what does that? Does Target? Ulta? Amazon?Just something to chew on. :) Feel free to share this. :) End of math lesson. (Original author unknown)
The bottom line is, Savvy Minerals is a great deal!! And, when you create an account here, and then share your link with others, Young Living will reward you with sweet cash bonuses for every person who places an order as well, so it's a win-win, cause then you can afford MORE MAKE-UP!! :-P Want to learn how to share Savvy Minerals as an income producing activity? Today is the best day to evaluate where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to be. Goal setting is a powerful process for envisioning what you’d like to accomplish and motivating yourself to make that vision a reality. Our team leaders are super effective at coaching on identifying your Chazown, or Vision, and then making a step by step action plan to achieve the things you're dreaming about!! We even have yearly retreats for our team to do just that!!
You may already be familiar with the SMART method of setting goals, one of the best ways to start:
Specific—Goals should answer specific questions of who, what, where, when, and why.
Measurable—Goals should be quantifiable so you can track your progress.
Attainable—You should be able to evaluate whether your goals are realistic.
Relevant—Goals should be relevant to your life at this time.
Time Related—Goals should have a deadline to keep you on track and focused.
For example, instead of “I want to get in better shape,” try a specific, SMART goal, such as “I want to exercise after work, five days a week, for the next three months.”
Whatever your goals are, you can use essential oils and our training to help you define (or refine) your goals, remove emotional blockages, and solidify your resolve to achieve them. We'd love to help you!!
Define Your Goals
When setting your goals, there are several essential oils that can help you gain vision and clarity about what you’d like to achieve, including:
